Jan. 15, 2013 - A new IBM study of 26,000 global consumers released today at the 2013 National Retail Federation Convention found they are diversifying the way they shop for and acquire goods, becoming increasingly open to buying both online and in-store depending on their needs at time of purchase. While more than 80 percent of shoppers chose the store to make their last non-grocery purchase, only half are committed to returning there next time they buy.

Jan. 14, 2013 – As retailers reinvent their in-store shopping experience in the face of the continued rise of e-commerce, research released today by Cisco found that digital content from the Internet is the most powerful influence in buying decisions for the majority of shoppers in all channels.  The third annual Cisco study of consumers found that on-line ratings and reviews were the most influential source for making purchasing decisions, and that shoppers increasingly want access to digital content in stores through a variety of devices. The study recommends different ways that retailers can present digital information to better influence shoppers' buying behavior -- and win higher revenue in the store.

The new feature is a breakthrough in POS system technology and is currently on display at the National Retail Federation's Convention and Expo (NRF) in New York City. Designed to dramatically reduce wait times and enhance efficiency, the ShopKeep POS iPad mini uses the MagTek uDynamo credit card swiper and allows merchants to take orders from customers right as they walk in the store. Jan. 11, 2013 - Misfit Shine placed second at the Consumer Electronics Show's Last Gadget Standing. The healthcare product was an early breakaway favorite on the online vote of the competition. Despite an impassioned social media push and having the most number of page views, Misfit lost its #1 spot to Lenovo at the last minute. Shine also placed second in a live audience vote at the event based on applause level.
