Oct. 3, 2013 ― With store brands now surpassing $110 billion in sales, the Private Label Manufacturers Association reported that shoppers are reaching for a retailer's brand for one out of every four products they buy at the supermarket.

Oct. 2, 2013 - Two L'Oreal Group fashion/haircare brand properties — Redken 5th Avenue NYC and Matrix — have recently tapped 15-employee, Chicago-based, privately held digital agency, Elevate Studios, for help with their global online presence. Elevate Studios will also be working on national programs with L'Oreal USA and Mario Tricoci, and it recently moved into a larger, urban contemporary-style office in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood with three times the space to continue servicing existing and new accounts.

Sept. 27, 2013 - In response to the deadly flooding in Colorado, Lowe's announced today it will expand its relief efforts by donating $250,000 to the American Red Cross to support the recovery of local families and communities. In the aftermath of the flooding, Lowe's has assisted residents in the hardest-hit areas by delivering critically needed cleaning supplies and providing volunteer assistance to local homeowners.

Sept. 26, 2013 - Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. hosted an official groundbreaking ceremony today to announce that construction has begun on Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. Once complete, Tanger Outlets expects the new center will feature over 300,000 square feet of upscale branded and designer outlet retailers. Tanger is developing the outlet center in partnership with the Gordon Group LLC.

Sept. 25, 2013 - Breaking new ground in environmental sustainability for home appliances, washing machines from LG Electronics are the first in the world to be certified for the new Water Footprint Inventory being launched by UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories).

Sept. 25, 2013 - General Mills announced today a commitment to sustainably source 100 percent of its 10 priority ingredients by 2020. These ingredients represent 50 percent of General Mills' total raw material purchases. The commitment, part of General Mills' long-term sustainable sourcing strategy, covers a broad range of raw materials including oats, wheat, corn, dairy, fiber packaging, cocoa, vanilla, palm oil, sugar cane and sugar beets.
